In Quebec, the pronunciation of “Go” (gigabyte) is a matter of debate: “Go”? “Gig”? “Gigue”?
As a 100% Québécois telco, Vidéotron made the call: in Quebec, we say “gigue.” To promote its 100 GB extra plan, the brand got Quebec gigging at a time when dancing together was literally forbidden. To do so, Vidéotron collaborated with David Boulanger from the legendary group La Bottine Souriante and with Cult Nation to create the campaign’s anthem.
The 360 campaign included video, print, an Instagram filter, a playlist, and even an appearance on the TV show Révolution. A campaign rooted in local culture that brought some much-needed fun into Quebecers’ homes at a time when everyone truly needed it.
